Questions? You’re covered.
Bulging discs occur when the disc's outer layer weakens, causing it to bulge and press on nearby nerves. It can happen anywhere in your spine like your neck or lower back. If you are having trouble sitting, experiencing sharp pains down your leg or experiencing increased pain when you sneeze or cough, you may have a bulging disc!Â
If you do have a bulging disc we will use physical therapy to strengthen supporting muscles nearby, reduce pressure on the disc and alleviate pain.Â
Stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal, leading to nerve compression and pain. It can happen anywhere in your spine, but according to Johns Hopkins Medicine, it most often occurs in your lower back area. Stenosis treatment options may include dry needling or massage therapy to reduce muscle tension in the impacted area and therapeutic exercises to improve spinal alignment and reduce symptoms.
John Hopkins Medicine describes radiculopathy as a "range of symptoms produced by the pinching of a nerve root in the spinal column." Symptoms of radiculopathy can range from experiencing sharp pains in your back, arms or legs to "pins and needles" or numbness in your arms and legs. Physical therapy and lifestyle modifications can help manage radiculopathy symptoms and prevent you from experiencing it in the future.Â
Sciatica involves irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, leading to leg pain, numbness, and tingling. Our treatment plan for sciatica may include dry needling, physical therapy, massage therapy and shockwave therapy to alleviate symptoms of sciatic nerve pain.
When it comes to Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD), we can help you manage it through a variety of treatments tailored to reduce your pain and improve spinal function. Our non-surgical treatment options include physical therapy with targeted exercises, manual therapy and posture training. Lifestyle modifications, such as weight management and ergonomic adjustments, alongside heat and cold therapy, can also provide relief. Alternative therapies like dry needling, shockwave therapy and massage therapy can also be beneficial for your recovery!Â
